According to Steven Thomas from Reports on Housing and I quote, “The Housing Market is hot due to lack of homeowners selling their homes. The inventory will slowly grow until it peaks sometime this summer. As the supply of homes grows and demand stays relatively the same or even drops slightly, the Expected Market Time will grow as well. More homes coming on the market means more competition.”

Here’s what’s happening here in San Diego County:

2,185 Active Listings (18% increase from previous report)

1,040 New Listings in May (13% increase from April)

2,178 Homes Sold in May (16% increase from April)

$845,000 Median Price for Sold Homes in May

19 Average Days on Market (down from 23 days in previous month, which suggests that homes are selling more quickly)
